FAQ

Q: How many students can participate in a space mission?
A: A minimum of 16 students is required to run a mission however we can have up to 38 students participate.

Q: Why can’t students in pre-K -3rd fly a mission?
A: The task manuals are at a 4th grade reading level. Our Journey to Space program is a great alternative for the younger set.

Q: How do I prepare my students for the space mission?
A: We offer teachers training at no additional charge to help you prepare students for the space missions. This is usually an all day program.

Q: Is the center open to the public?
A: Everyone is welcome to visit the wonderful interactive exhibits at our Science and Technology Center! It is open daily. Please click on our Programs pages for further information.

Q: How can we do a Challenger space mission?
A: This is a group activity for 16 or more people. Please contact us for further information: 209-726-0296, info@challengersjv.org, and challengersjv@yahoo.com

 

The Castle Challenger learning Center Foundation supports the San Joaquin Valley's only Challenger Learning Center
as well as the Castle Science and Technology Center.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS:

- From Highway 99, take Buhach Road exit.

- You will come to a stop sign. Turn left onto Buhach Road.

- Follow Buhach Road approximately 2 1/2 miles north to Castle Airport
(formerly Castle Air Force Base).

- After you cross the Santa Fe Railroad tracks and Santa Fe Drive, you will enter the airport property.

- Take the second left turn into our large parking lot.
